Trauma Therapy & DSGBV Support in Mallow, Co. Cork
Gentle, Somatic, Nervous‑System‑Informed Therapy for Trauma and Overwhelm
Trauma can leave a deep imprint on the body and nervous system. It can affect how safe you feel, how you relate to others, and how you navigate the world. You may feel anxious, numb, disconnected, hypervigilant, or overwhelmed without understanding why.
At Townview Therapy, I offer a grounded, compassionate space for adults who have experienced trauma, domestic violence, sexual violence, or gender‑based violence (DSGBV). My approach is slow, somatic, relational, and deeply respectful of your pace.
You are not expected to retell your story or revisit anything before you are ready.
Common trauma responses I support
• hypervigilance or fear
• dissociation or numbness
• anxiety, panic, or overwhelm
• shame or self‑blame
• difficulty trusting others
• trouble sleeping
• emotional outbursts or shutdown
• chronic people‑pleasing
• feeling unsafe in your own body
• relationship difficulties
• flashbacks or triggers
These are normal human responses to overwhelming experiences.
