Psychotherapy in practice
What we do
"It is a joy to be hidden, and disaster not to be found." — Donald Winnicott
Our Work:
Townview Therapy is a private practice in Mallow, Co. Cork, offering psychotherapy for children, teens, adults, parents, and couples.
Our work is grounded in relational, somatic, and polyvagal principles, helping
clients understand their nervous system and find steadiness in the places that
feel overwhelming.
We support clients with:
• anxiety, fear, and worry
• internal conflict or self‑criticism
• relationship conflict or emotional distance
• trauma and chronic overwhelm
• difficulties with boundaries or safety
• parenting under stress
• the impacts of domestic, sexual, or gender‑based violence
How We Work:
Our sessions focus on creating psychological
and physiological safety.
We support you to:
• understand what's happening in your body
• explore the patterns that developed to protect you
• reconnect with your inner resources
• soften painful cycles in relationships
• build the capacity to face difficult emotions
• experience yourself with more compassion and clarity
This approach doesn't rush or push — it paces with your system so change feels possible, not overwhelming.
Who We Work With:
• Children: anxiety, overwhelm,
behaviour rooted in nervous-system distress
• Teens & Adults: anxiety, depression, shutdown, masking, inner
conflict
• Parents: support in understanding their child's emotional and behavioural world
• Couples: conflict patterns, miscommunication, disconnection, repair
• Adults with trauma/DSGBV: threat responses, safety, and steady
therapeutic holding
